• MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS The individual camp, for sixth to eighth rising students and consisting of Dobyns-Bennett Lady Indians coaches and players as well as coaches John Sevier and Ross N. Robinson, will take place May 24-26, 5:30 p.m. at 8:30 p.m. pm, at John Sevier Middle School. Call (423) 378-8451 or email [email protected] for more information. • TUSCULUM WOMEN’S BASKETBALL will host two camps on the University of Greeneville campus in June. The elite women’s basketball camp, for girls in grades 9 to 12, will be held on June 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. the cost is $ 125 per player. A skills camp, for boys and girls in Kindergarten to Grade 4, organized in two daily sessions (9 a.m. to noon, 1 to 4 p.m.), will be held from June 7 to 9; the cost is $ 60 per player. • SHOOTING STARS SUMMER The Basketball League registers teams until June 30. The boys and girls divisions are for grades 3-12 and the season includes 12 games and a tournament. • TUSCULUM SUMMER YOUTH Baseball camp, for ages 7 to 12, will be held June 7-11, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Red Edmonds Softball Field on the Greeneville University campus. The cost is $ 95 if you are registered before the first day of camp; Registration day is $ 105 and will take place from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on June 7. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. • CARL LANE CATFISH DERBY, a free event open to the first 50 children (ages 3-12) to register, will take place on Saturday, June 12, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Cherokee Rod and Gun Club, 4280 Reservoir Road, Kingsport. Participants must be registered before June 3. All children must be supervised by an adult and bring their own fishing equipment and bait (chicken livers and electric baits). • RANDY SANDERS FOOTBALL CAMPS, for students in grades 9-12, will take place on Sunday June 6 and Friday June 11 at ETSU’s Greene Stadium in Johnson City. Each day will include a Prospect Camp and a Specialist Camp, and the cost per camp is $ 40. Dates and times are subject to change. • UNICOI COUNTY THURSDAY The Night Lights football camp, for grades 3-8, will be held on July 22, 7-9 p.m., at Gentry Stadium in Erwin. The cost is $ 10 and campers are requested to pre-register for the camp hosted by the UCHS football staff with current and former Blue Devils players. • MECC GOLF CLASSIC, which raises funds for the Mountain Empire Community College scholarships, will take place on Friday, June 4 at the Lonesome Pine Country Club in Big Stone Gap. The entry fee for the tournament, which is presented by Auto World, is $ 100; several sponsorships are also available. All golfers participate in a raffle for a cash prize of $ 500; golfers must be present to win the prize. Plus, anyone who makes hole-in-one on # 10 wins a 2021 Jeep Renegade. • VIRTUAL CAREER RUN 5K, a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, will take place in October. • THE JOY OF TUSCULUM SOCCER girls’ camps are coming this summer. The ID Camp, for girls from middle school to high school, and the High School Girls Team Camp will be held simultaneously from July 18 to 22. • VOLLEYBALL UVA WISE summer camps will be held July 12-14 and July 16 on the college campus. Two separate individual skills camps will be held July 12-14 – one from 9 a.m. to noon for eighth grade and the second from 1 to 4 p.m. for grade seven and under – and the cost for each is $ 75. The Elite July 16 Camp, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for Grades 9 to 12, is for those planning on competing at the college level; the cost is $ 50.
