Free training for advanced manufacturing careers
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s free IMPACT Institute prepares students for entry-level advanced manufacturing jobs and qualifies them for scholarships to further their education in the following fields: industrial maintenance, machining, mechatronics, mechanical engineering and welding. Students must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school. The Evening IMPACT Institute meets at the Caldwell Campus in Hudson from 6-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday, February 7-March 31. Institute of Furniture Technology: Introduction to Upholstery
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s Furniture Technology Institute will be offering Introduction to Upholstery Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-9:30 p.m., January 24 through April 25 at J-118 on the Caldwell campus. The course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to become a beginner upholsterer. In addition, students will learn the soft skills needed for employment. The course includes basic skills, training in upholstery manufacturing concepts, tools and safety and training in employability skills, communication, problem solving and critical thinking. The Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will be offering a massage therapy course from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and every third Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from February 2, 2022 through February 22, 2023 at the Caldwell campus in Hudson. This course is designed to prepare students for the certification exam required for the North Carolina licensure application process. The course will include anatomy and physiology, multiple styles of massage, multiple styles of therapy, ethics, North Carolina laws and regulations, wellness, and self-care. Students who successfully complete this massage therapy training will receive three points for competitive admission into the CCC&TI Physiotherapy Assistant program. The cost of the course is $200. The Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will be offering a Nail Technician/Nail Technician course Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., January 18 through May 20, at the Caldwell campus in Hudson. Power Lineman I
The Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will be offering a Power Lineworkers I Evening Class Monday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., February 21 through May 5 at the Caldwell campus. The Institute of Power Linemen prepares students for a career as an apprentice to a journeyman lineman. In this program, students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to install, operate, maintain, and repair residential, commercial, and industrial outdoor electrical systems and associated power transmission lines. Preparation for the general contractor exam
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will be offering a General Contractor Exam Preparation course from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 8 through April 14. This 54-hour course prepares students for the general contractor license exam. The focus is on master plans, laws and regulations, job security laws and workers’ compensation. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the NC Contractor Licensing Examination. The cost of the course is $182.
