GREENFIELD – A “Turkey Day 5K” scheduled for Thanksgiving morning will generate profits for Hope House, Greenfield Main Street and local parks. The route begins and ends in front of the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Building. The event encourages costumes; the finishers’ medals are available for the first 500 registrants. The cost ranges from $ 12 for young people to $ 25 for adults who walk a mile to $ 35 for adults who do 5K. Registration fees also apply and costs increase after October 31st. Sheriffs Association Accepts New Members
GREENFIELD – Sheriff Brad Burkhart has announced that citizens of Hancock County who wish to join the fight against crime are invited to become members of the Indiana Sheriffs Association. The Indiana Sheriffs Association is a nonprofit, professional, educational, and service organization dedicated to improving the criminal justice system through education, training, service, and the protection of life and property of the citizens of Indiana.
The Membership Program was instituted to provide citizens with the opportunity to support crime prevention and awareness programs, promote public safety, provide more comprehensive and improved training to sheriffs and their staff , as well as to support summer camps for young people and college scholarships. Jazz fundraiser for a youth camp
GREENFIELD – A jazz event including dinner, drinks and entertainment is scheduled for November 5 at the Nameless Creek Youth Camp Lodge, 2675 S. 600E.
