The technical staff of the Express Football Club led by head coach Wasswa Bbosa and his assistant James Odoch have extended their stay with the seven-time Ugandan Premier League champions.
The duo were also joined by the rest of the backroom staff consisting of goalkeeper coach Samuel Kawalya, team physio Aloysius Makubuya, team medics Godfrey Wante and Enock Kayondo.
The development comes in the wake of Bbosa and the rest of the backstage staff expiring at the end of last season.
Bbosa has since expressed his gratitude to the club for the successful negotiations and set the bar high.
“I want to thank the President and CEO for ensuring that I and my backstage staff stayed put for another season. We have accomplished a lot together and I think we will do more this season. It had to happen, but it was only a matter of time, so now it’s time to double our efforts and perform well on the continent, ”Bbosa said on the club’s website.
Bbosa’s assistant, Odoch also praised management for the renewal of his contracts.
“It’s a good step to keep the whole team intact. Many thanks to the President and CEO for making this possible. We are now as a technical team, we are focused on our campaign in the CAF Champions League and we hope to perform well, ”revealed Odoch.
The development comes at a time when Express was camping on Nabinonya Beach in Kisubi, near Entebbe Road.
Express is preparing for the CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Sudanese club El Merriekh Sports Club at St Mary’s stadium in Kitende this Friday.
The Red Eagles won the championship last season as well as the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
