The Buckhannon Community Theater lifts the curtain on its 50th anniversary season

The Buckhannon Community Theater is proud to announce its 50and Anniversary season. After a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Buckhannon Community Theater is ready to raise the curtain once again. The 2022 season will be composed of BCT: A 50and Golden Anniversary Celebration, Disney’s Frozen Junior, I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change and Stage Clue

the golden anniversary The event will celebrate fifty years of entertainment at Buckhannon. The Buckhannon Community Theater produced its first show in the summer of 1971 with Irving Berlin’s musical, Annie, take your gun. This event will celebrate our history and the future with performances from the extensive catalog of shows featuring the original cast as well as special guests and the presentation of the Jim Knorr Second Prize. This will be the first presentation at the completely renovated Colonial Arts Center.

Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical and brings Elsa, Anna and the magical land of Arendelle to life on stage. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. develops the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. This show will be composed entirely of young performers and will be researched, rehearsed and performed as part of a unique educational summer camp experience.

I love you, you are perfect, now change is a musical with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. It is the second longest running Off-Broadway musical. I love you, you are perfect, now ChangIt is presented as a series of vignettes linked by the central theme of love and relationships. Despite the large number of characters, the show is generally performed with a relatively small cast: the original Off-Broadway production uses a cast of four.

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount film inspired by the classic Parker Brothers board game, Index is a hilarious farce that meets murder mystery. The story begins in an isolated mansion, where six mysterious guests gather for an unusual dinner where murder and blackmail are on the menu.
