Public auction for the benefit of the new Nipgen Camp pavilion | Community

The New Covenant Church in Waverly, along with all Christ in Christian Union (CCCU) Churches in Pike County, will be doing their part to help fund the construction of a new clubhouse to be used by youth at Camp Nipgen thanks to the proceeds of an auction. will take place on Saturday May 28 at 6 p.m.

The auction, which will be held at New Covenant Church, 535 East Second St. in Waverly (behind the Pike County Government Center), is open to the public and accepts donations.

According to Claire Carrier, organizer of the auction, there are a wide variety of items, large and small, that can be donated for the auction, including tools, baskets, collectible money, watering cans furniture, chests, kitchen utensils from the 1930s and 1940s, books, bottles (like old medicine bottles), glass piggy banks filled with coins, appliances, duvets and blankets, pots and pans , fishing tackle, thimbles, guns, craft needlework, toys, automobiles, birdhouses/feeders, iron pans, jewelry, wooden items, seasonal ornaments, Hummel figurines, gift certificates from local businesses, hardware camping kits, lawn statues, knives, cast iron piggy banks, pictures, wicker ware, barbie dolls, horse collars, political campaign badges, office supplies/equipment, canes/canes, granite clothing, cloc sleigh hes, stone jars, baby furniture, Longaberger, antiques/collectibles, pottery, china, glassware, postcards, milk glass, farm tools, teapots, cookie jars, metal signs, crystal al, and more Again.

According to Carrier, the public is welcome and encouraged to participate and donate to this event. The auction will be led by Randy Dollison of Dollison Auction Services, who also hold local auctions twice a month at the Forest Hills Auction House.

Nipgen Camp, located at 329 State Route 772, Bainbridge, is CCCU’s South Central District church camp, and each summer it hosts youth camps as well as Nipgen Camp Meeting, a series of services featuring music and preaching.

The new pavilion, when constructed, will provide a sheltered space for youth activities.
