Kareem Hunt’s youth soccer camp to be held June 29-30 – News-Herald

Kareem Hunt Youth Football Camp returns to South High School in June.

A year ago, more than 120 kids in grades 1-8 attended the first Kareem Hunt Camp, named after the former star running back for the South Rebels, who is now running back with the Browns. The same high turnout is expected this year when Camp Hunt takes place June 29-30 at Harry E. Winters Stadium.

“It’s a really good community event and Kareem is brilliant with it,” South head football coach Matt Duffy said. “He has remained so connected to Willoughby. He loves coming back. He comes to school three or four times a year.

The cost of the camp is $100 per child. Each camper will receive instruction on offensive skills, defensive skills, and special team skills. All proceeds will go to Southern Sports Boosters.

“Kareem loves this event, coming home to support the region,” Duffy said. “He did a fantastic job last year. He participated in all the exercises and spent time with all the children in the camp. He did a wonderful job. We can’t wait to do it again.”
