Ideal Power announces the passing of President David B.

AUSTIN, Oct. 21, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Ideal Power Inc. (Nasdaq: IPWR), a pioneer in the development and commercialization of highly efficient and widely patented B-TRAN ™ two-way power switches, announced today with a great sadness the death of David B. Eisenhaure, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Eisenhaure was an engineering visionary, an accomplished inventor and entrepreneur, and a seasoned executive of public companies.

Prior to Mr. Eisenhaure’s death, the Board of Directors began the process of identifying candidates to be added to the Board. This process will continue with the identification of a new President.

Mr. Eisenhaure has served on the Ideal Power Board of Directors since August 2013 and was appointed President in June 2020. From 1985 to 2008, he was President and CEO of SatCon Technology Corporation, a product developer for utility, hybrid, naval, industrial vehicles, automation, semiconductor processing and defense markets. He founded SatCon and was also a director from 1985 to 2009. SatCon is well known for his work in advanced electric drives; inverter technology for smart grids and photovoltaic applications; and the development of lightweight, high-power electronics, which has contributed to the development of practical hybrid and electric vehicles. Mr. Eisenhaure took SatCon public in 1992 and subsequently oversaw the acquisition of eight private companies and one public company, reorganizing SatCon from an R&D company into a diversified organization with four factories in the United States and in Canada. Prior to SatCon, he was technical director of the energy systems division of the Draper laboratory, where he oversaw the development of magnetic bearings, flywheels, energy storage, advanced solid-state power converters, motors and advanced generators and adaptive control systems for highly dynamic systems. and otherwise unstable systems.
