Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four boxers from the Madhya Pradesh state academy have been selected for the Asian Junior and Junior Championship national junior and junior camp to be held in Jordan on February 27, academy officials announced on Thursday. The camp starts on February 10.

In the junior category, Rishabh Singh was selected in the 80kg weight category and Anchal Singh was selected in the over 80kg weight category. In the youth category, Aman Singh Bisht was selected in the weight category above 92 kg and Anand Yadav in the category of 54 kg.

The camp for the junior category will be held at Rohtak in Haryana while the youth category boxers will camp at Sports Authority of India Bhopal.

All four players trained under MP Boxing Academy coach Roshanlal.

Roshanlal said: “All these boxers are excellent in their respective categories and will probably win medals at the Asian Junior and Junior Championships. They continued their practice even during confinement.

Aman had started boxing at an early age. But due to his weight, he never had the chance to fight in the sub-junior category. He has been waiting for this opportunity for five years. He had recently won a bronze medal for the nation in Dubai, he added.
