Anna Duggar was seen leaving Josh Duggar’s preliminary hearing on September 27. The pregnant mother of six appeared to be all smiles as she left an Arkansas courthouse, despite a federal judge ruling against several motions filed by Josh’s legal team. Much of the Duggar family was en route across the country on a road trip when the evidence hearing took place. This has left followers of the Duggar family wondering who is looking after Josh and Anna’s children. Followers of the family haven’t spotted them in public, in groups, for months.
How many children do Josh and Anna have?
Josh and Anna’s courtship and marriage have been documented on 19 children and count, just like the birth of their first children. After it was revealed that Josh assaulted several of his teenage siblings, TLC removed the couple from the family show and has not documented them since. Much has happened in the meantime, and several more children have been born.
Josh and Anna are currently the parents of six children. Their first child, Mackynzie Duggar, was born in 2009. They then welcomed a child into their family approximately every two years. Their youngest child, Maryella Duggar, was born in November 2019. The couple are also expecting the birth of their seventh child, another daughter, due this fall.
The younger generation of Duggars haven’t been spotted for months
Josh and Anna’s six children have not been seen as a group in public for several months. It would be nice if Anna was there to keep an eye on them. This does not seem to be the case. Several media publications have reported that Anna spent her evenings with Josh at her chaperone’s. The 33-year-old used car salesman lives in a house a few miles from the Duggar family compound in Springdale, Arkansas. Critics of the family have widely assumed that the Duggar family were keeping a close watch on the six children.
However, it is unlikely that this was the case at the preliminary hearing. At the very least, Josh’s parents aren’t on the details of the child care. While Josh and Anna were in an Arkansas courtroom, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were traveling with several of their youngest children. They have been spending time out west for two weeks. Although they shared photos from their travels, none of Josh and Anna Duggar’s children have appeared in them.
While some followers of the Duggar family have suggested that Josh and Anna sent the children out to spend time with Anna’s family, this does not appear to be the case. James Duggar recently shared photos on Instagram that show Michael Duggar on a construction site with him. Michael, 10, is Josh and Anna’s oldest son. It seems reasonable to assume that at least some of Josh and Anna’s six children are spending their time in Arkansas, but that doesn’t mean they’re all being watched by Duggar’s older children.
At least one of Anna Duggar and Josh Duggar’s children was spotted in Texas over the summer
Michael spends the fall in Arkansas and appears to be being watched by an extended family, including James and, presumably, Jana Duggar. The rest of the kids is a bit of a question mark, however. It seems entirely possible that some of them were sent to spend time with the Keller family. Evidence suggests that at least one of the couple’s children has spent some time out of state.
In June 2021, just two months after federal agents arrested Josh on two child pornography charges, Marcus Duggar was spotted in a Texas youth camp. 8-year-old Marcus was seen in a photo of the church camp by family worshipers before the church quickly removed him. Anna’s sister, Priscilla Waller, lives in Texas. Fans believe he stayed with her, at least briefly, although it’s unclear how long he was in the state. Marcus is Josh and Anna’s third child.
The rest of Josh and Anna’s children, including Meredith, 6, Mason, 4, and Maryella, 2, have not been seen since the April 2021 arrest. They last appeared on a Instagram photo the week before federal agents arrested Josh. Anna has not posted on Instagram since the arrest. Most of the Duggar family took a brief social media hiatus in the days following the arrest, but most have since returned.
