Coimbatore: The company board on Thursday approved a proposal to recruit three additional deputy commissioners for health, works and finance for effective project oversight and implementation.
The city now has only one deputy commissioner, a post created in 1996. An additional post of deputy commissioner (law) was also sought with a civil servant as assistant to the receiver.
A senior engineer is needed for the health department, a deputy senior engineer for solid waste management, 32 data entry operators, a sanitary officer for the main building and 24 sanitary inspectors. Currently, only 26 health inspectors are available for the 100 services.
A superintendent for the main building, five surveyors, 10 technical assistants, an assistant working engineer for underground facilities, an assistant working engineer for parks and lakes, an assistant working engineer for drinking water and an assistant working engineer for the central area have been sought for the engineering department. In addition, eight assistant engineers, 10 for drinking water supply and 57 assistants are also required.
An administrative officer for the main building, a system analyst, two programmers, six assistant programmers and 12 data entry operators have been sought.
Payroll expenses would be well within the 49% of total revenue norm even after new hires, a company official said.
