Brunei: Special meeting focuses on Asean recovery and trade priorities

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 29 (Borneo Bulletin / ANN): The 20th meeting of the ASEAN Joint Consultative Committee on Trade Facilitation (ATF-JCC) was held by videoconference at the Ministry of Finance and Economy ( MoFE) Thursday and Friday (May 28).

MoFE Permanent Secretary (Economics) Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah Haji Ahmad Ariffin, as ATF-JCC President for 2021, chaired the meeting. Representatives of ASEAN member states and chairpersons or representatives of ASEAN sectoral bodies attended the meeting.

Following the first ATF-JCC meeting for 2021 held in January, the two-day meeting discussed the latest updates on ASEAN’s work program on trade facilitation, which included progress on the plan. for the implementation of the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF), 2021. ASEAN’s work program and priorities on trade facilitation, and non-tariff measures profitability toolbox (NTM toolbox) .

In addition, consultations were also held with relevant works councils and technical partners.

The meeting also endorsed the NTM Toolkit, which is one of the priority economic outcomes of the ASEAN Presidency of Brunei Darussalam this year. – Borneo Bulletin / ANN
