Boys and Girls Clubs are now accepting new members for in-person summer camp


Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade (BGCMD) is accepting new members for its 2021 in-person summer camp. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the CDC’s social distancing efforts / guidelines, the BGCMD is offering a summer camp. ‘been in person smaller and limited.

Much like the after-school program during the school year, the summer camp program enables children to learn values ​​such as friendship, honesty and teamwork by providing them with a safe and secure environment where they can grow into productive and independent young adults.

It is offered at Hank Kline, Northwest, Kendall and South Beach clubs, and is staffed with full-time and summer trained staff.

Kids participate in fun indoor activities such as crafts, computer room, game room, board games, movie theater, basketball and more. Outdoor activities include organized group games. Field trips are offered to exciting venues and events.

The in-person summer camp program is open to all boys and girls ages 5 to 17 (must enter kindergarten in the fall; cannot be 17 before September 1, 2021) and runs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ; however, counselors are available to supervise children from 8:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A free nutritious lunch and afternoon snack are provided daily at no additional cost, or kids can bring their own lunch. In each club, awards will be presented to recognize boys and girls who have made a positive contribution to the summer camp program.

To register, parents must attend in person at the specific club where their child (ren) will participate in the summer camp program. Registration cards sent by mail or fax will not be accepted. Children will be welcomed on a first come, first served basis until the program is completed.

The registration fees for the summer program are as follows:

8-week summer camp program, from June 14 to August. $ 6.450;
1st session, June 14-July 9 (4 weeks), $ 250;
2nd session, July 12th-August. 6 (4 weeks): $ 250.

1st session, from June 14 to July 9 (4 weeks), $ 350 includes field visits;
2nd session, July 12 to August 6 (4 weeks), $ 350 includes field trips.
